Like the other versions of the app, you can find all your archived chats in a separate section from your main chats list. That’s how you archive on Signal for desktops.
At the upper-right corner of the chat window, click the drop-down arrow to open the menu. Launch the Signal desktop app and make sure to link your account. From there, you have the option to unarchive chats to restore them on the main list. Like on the Android app, you can find all your archives section by tapping “Archived conversations” at the bottom of your chats. You can also swipe it all the way to archive it quickly. Look for the one you want to archive and swipe it to the left. Open Signal on your device and check your chats list. However, there are slight differences in the interface between the two devices. On iOS:Īs for those using Signal on iOS, the process of archiving your conversations is pretty similar to the Android one. In that separate section, you can select your conversations and tap Unarchive at the top of your screen to restore them to your primary chats. You can find all your archived chats by tapping “Archived conversations” at the bottom of your chats list. Note: To quickly archive a single conversation, tap and swipe it to the right on your chats list. On the options at the top of your screen, tap the Archive icon. After selecting one, you can select more by tapping on the conversation. Tap and hold on to a chat to select it.

When you do, the app hides the chat from your view until you decide to unarchive them. If you want to clean up your chats on Signal without deleting them, you can choose to archive them instead. We’ll show you how to archive your chats on the Signal app for Android, desktops, and iOS.
